About Us

The YES Foundation offers two programs to prepare students for college preparatory high schools: The YES for PREP Community and Explorers' Learning Academy.

The YES for PREP Community of thirty (30) students per year provides critical peer support for the gifts and talents of high achieving students as well as 14 months of rigorous preparation for high school. Simultaneously, partnerships are developed with preparatory schools to encourage them to seek out YES for PREP graduates for 9th grade placement and scholarship opportunities.

YES for PREP functions as a bridge between middle school and high school by assisting selected students to make important decisions regarding this often difficult academic and social transition. The program is based on a comprehensive, five-pronged approach:

  • Extensive Talent Search
  • Rigorous 14-month Academic and Social Preparation
  • Careful placement of each student in an appropriate school
  • Counseling through continued close association with students until high-school graduation
  • Leadership development and enrichment opportunities

The Explorers' Learning Academy of more than 100 students annually is a year-round offering of academic, social, and cultural enrichment workshops and activities designed to strengthen academic abilities and broaden students' horizons through exposure to ideas, information, opportunities and experiences.
